Jeff grew up in White Rock, BC, and was surrounded by animals. After rescuing a dog from the chilly waters of the pier, his desire to become a veterinarian began. This led to volunteering for veterinarians to gain experience. This persistence meant going to vet school and graduating in 1983.
Working in a companion animal practice (dogs and cats), Jeff moved into teaching in 1992. This moved online in 2003 with his first veterinary assistant course. Now, he teaches four assistant courses and has taught over 34,000 students.
ACE was born in 2014 and began with a course for shelter and rescue workers. Now, it boasts courses for First Responders, several obedience training courses, and behavior courses and consultations.
On the personal side, Jeff has been married to his veterinarian wife for over 30 years. They practice together in a hospital in Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada. They are never without pets. The star of ACE right now is their Border Collie Shay.
